- Write two actions on a slip of paper, have a child read it, and then act it out.
- Repeat for each child.
- Then go back to the first child, have them read their card again, and then have them mark the action words with the correct symbols.
- Repeat for each child.
- Cut the action words and switch their places.
- Have each child read this new phrase and see if it makes sense.
- Bring attention to how we can change the order and it still makes sense.
- Repeat for two of three more examples. Remember to add in few where the transposition doesn’t make sense and discuss these with the children.
